Two Engine Choices

The XT5 offers a choice between two engines, allowing you to pick the speed and performance that match your needs. The standard engine is a 2.0L Turbo 4-cyl gasoline engine that supplies 235 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque. It’s paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission and the option for FWD or AWD. It can reach 22 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway with FWD or 22 mpg and 30 mpg, respectively, with AWD.

The second engine is a 3.6L V6, which is standard on the Sport trim. It will deliver 310 hp and 271 lb-ft of torque. This engine is mated with a 9-speed automatic transmission and is available with FWD or AWD. With FWD, it will achieve 19 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the highway, or 18 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway with AWD.

Interior Technology

OnStar powers the 8.0″ CUE infotainment system touchscreen, which features Google Maps and Google Assistant, together with Maps and Wuze. The system is Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatible, allowing you to smoothly pair your smartphone and access all its information, including making and receiving calls and sending and receiving texts and emails hands-free.

OnStar One Essentials is standard, and every new XT5 also includes a complimentary three-year access to OnStar Premium, which provides a host of additional services. These include Turn-by-Turn navigation, roadside assistance, emergency services, and stolen vehicle assistance. If you install the free myCadillac app on your smartphone, you can also access many of these features remotely.

Cadillac Smart System

Smart System is an advanced range of driver assistance features that protect you and your passengers. These systems monitor the area around your vehicle and will provide visual and audible warnings of potential threats so you can take action and avoid a collision. They can also help to keep your vehicle centered in its lane, and some features will actively intervene to prevent an accident if necessary.

Forward Collision Alert and Automatic Emergency Braking, for example, work together to identify potential front-end collision situations. They use radar and a camera to determine the distance between your Cadillac and any vehicle ahead of you. This distance is then compared to your speed, and you’ll hear warning tones if you’re closing too fast. If you’re unable to brake in time, the automatic braking feature will stop your vehicle almost instantly.
